Of
course, the new Gene arrived from Mr Wu...I don't
like her!
I was looking forward to Jason
taking up where Mel Odom had left off. But
she looks like she's taken one too many valium; I
think it's meant to be vampish - it isn't.
She looks tired.
And I'm not too keen at all with
the black smudge in between the lips: I thought it
was a screening fault until I saw other people's
pictures!
And the biggest turn off for me
was the lower leg joint - it turns through 360
degrees. Yep, you can have her feet facing
backwards if you like...or pigeon toed...or give
her duck feet.. |
Tonner
Super Heroes
Apparently the success of
the Harry Potter dolls led in no small way to Tonner being
granted the licence to produce these DC lovelies.
Many male doll collectors will be in raptures, especially
over the Wonder Woman doll.
It's
Tonner, really, but not as we know him...
Jason Wu has his fingers in
many a dollie pie and no doubt Mr Tonner must have been
feeling somewhat chagrined at the newcomer adding Gene to
his ever-expanding empire, so not to be outdone, Tonner
designed Ellowyne Wilde for Wilde Imaginations.
Ellowyne was originally
Gwendolyne and was an Exclusive doll when first
released. Everyone went crazy for her and so a whole
line of dolls and outfits has now been released in the US
by Wilde Imaginations and the doll is only sold through
them and not Tonner dealers.
The concept is a clever
one. Ellowyne's greatest enemy is boredom - and her
face does have a touch of the winsome about it. She
is 16 inches tall, but has a small bust unlike Tyler and -
as you can obviously see - has an oversized head.
However, don't go thinking that this is the 22" AM
model head - it isn't. Ellowyne's head is smaller
than the one used on the 22 AM models.
